This is not a case that should end up having only the club punished
Written by the house. 1 minute. Round 1 open
The Man City case is a very, very complex case, and it is clearly not only about football. At Football Cafe we only discuss football, so we are jumping into the most entertaining debate of the last few days: what should the punishment be?
For us, it should hit the club hard, but not only the club. Whoever intends to do this, whoever intends to pour that money in to sportswash himself, his state or his company, should know how it ends: the Premier League will take his money, build a perfect football product with it, then take even more of his money as a fine, and after that he won’t be able to set foot in England again, because he would go to prison.
Everybody knows a sheikh can never go to prison, because he is a gazillionaire. But it would damage his image so badly that the next one who wants to enter the Prem to sportswash himself won’t do it, so he doesn’t end up losing his money and wrecking his image as well.
